When we think of fishing one of our first thoughts, apart from the big fish we want to catch, are the rods, reels and the baits that we will be needing. They are what is known as fishing tackle, tackle meaning apparatus for fishing, and they are used together with other products to help you catch fish.
Now you would think that if you have a fishing rod, a reel, hooks and some bait that you would be ready to go out and catch any types of fish available but you would be wrong. Bass, Carp, Barber, Saltwater fish or just about any type of fish all have different types of tackle suited to the specific species of fish that you are planning to go catch.
For Saltwater fishing you would use bigger reels, strong stiff rods and live baits but if you were Bass fishing that same tackle would be too big to use. For Bass you would rather use light fishing rods, small reels and as bait you would use soft lures or spinner baits instead. Using the wrong tackle for the wrong type of fishing would not only frustrate you, because you are not catching anything, but you would also spend loads of money on things that you might never even need to use.
But fishing tackle is not just the rods and such; it also includes a host of other things like fishing hooks, swivels, leads, leaders, tippets for fly fishing, lead clips for carp fishing and so much more. It may all sound intimidating and you might be put off a bit but don’t worry, if you know what types of fish you are looking to catch and u have a little bit of patience we will help guide you through the tackle that you need.
